Buying Cooktops
From DRL Holdings
Through This Site

"It's no fish ye're buying."

Practical Information on Purchasing.

Who Is Actually Delivering the Unit?

Appliance Deals logo This site is affiliated with Appliance Deals, an online retailer that is a subsidiary of the DRL Holdings Group; it is rhey who actually ships the unit to you. Appliance Deals and DRL seem to be a highly reputable and well-thought-of operations (else we here wouldn't use them--see the image below.).

Logos of places favorably reviewing Appliance Deals

Why go through this chain? Please, if you have not already read our case for why, do so now.

The Mechanical Details

Please understand that you will be placing your order with and dealing entirely for the order and delivery process with DRL Holdings, not with The Induction Site. In the highly unlikely event that a problem develops between you and them, we will try to intercede and assist, but, again, you are dealing with them. The basics are very simple: click on our "buy" button, be taken to their site page for the product, click on their "buy" button, and go through their relatively simple "Checkout" process, which includes giving them your basic data and a credit card or whatever.

DRL Holdings--like any internet retailer--have on their sites a lengthy set of terms and conditions and it is those full, exact terms that will govern your relation with them. For your convenience, we repeat them here in slightly abridged form, but this is only a convenience, not a binding document. (Sorry, but having to set out that sort of yuck is what lawyers have brought us to today.)

Terms and Conditions

  • Prices: The prices for items you order are clearly set out on the Appliance Deals web site, and are all inclusive of VAT. The price of the items as quoted on The Induction Site should include any delivery costs, but that assumes a "standard" delivery, which among other things means only to the mainland UK (including the Isle of Wight); but please check your screen carefully when placing an order to be sure that what Appliance Deals is telling you agrees with what we have told you, as to price and all other matters.

  • Availability: If Appliance Deals are unable to supply a listed item, they will notify you as soon as possible after your order. If the item is "available" in a general sense but out of stock when you order, they will not take payment unless you expressly authorize them to do so and agree to wait as necessary for the out-of-stock appliance.

  • Contract: There will be no contract of any kind between you and Appliance Deals till payment for your goods is authorised by your bank or credit-card insurer. At any point till then Appliance Deals may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that payment for the goods is authorised a contract is created between you and Appliance Deals. You must give them authority to take payment at the time you place your order. Payment for your order will be taken once stock availability has been confirmed (see also the note just above). If the goods simply cannot be supplied, or if you don't choose to wait for an out-of-stock item, your payment will be refunded in full. (But refunds can take up to 30 days, as per the Distant-Selling Directive.)

  • Delivery: Delivery will be made to whatever address you specify, but if it is not "standard" there may be extra charges. Deliveries are made by Appliance Deals' courier service. Appliance Deals do their best to secure delivery within 3 to 7 working (not calendar) days of your order--but delivery lead times can vary depending on the appliance type, manufacturer, or stock availability. Note carefully that if you order multiple items and specify more than one delivery date, the items will--of course--be shipped separately and each delivery--again, of course--will be charged separately. The cost for a "standard" delivery (which The Induction Site includes in its price listing) covers only the first item purchased; other items coming in the same delivery each incur an extra £5 cost; separate deliveries cost an extra £19.99 for the first item in a given delivery, then another £5 for any furthet items in that particular delivery. Surcharges may apply for special deliveries where there are access restrictions. Also, if you are not at home to receive an arranged delivery, Appliance Deals reserve the right to charge you a second £19.99 to redeliver your order. And if you change a delivery date once it has been agreed on, you must give Appliance Deals no less than 2 working days' notice else, again, there will be an additional £19.99 charged. Note carefully that deliveries to commercial properties could void your warranty, which typically covers only household, not commercial, uses.

  • Free delivery: All orders with a value of £299 or more (which will include most or all induction equipment offered here) will be delivered free of charge to the address specified by you within mainland UK (which includes the Isle of Wight but excludes Northern Ireland); other locations may incur extra charges. That minimum value of £299 does not include any separate charges for connection or disposal.

  • At Receipt: It is your responsibility to check the appliance before signing for the goods. The importance of taking your time to unpack and closely examine the appliance before signing off for it cannot be overstated; do not rush or let yourself be rushed on this. Appliance Deals cannot and will not accept liability for goods damaged after delivery if you signed for them as received in satisfactory condition. They further recommend that where required you book any fitters for the day after delivery.

Connecting Your Appliance

The Induction Site offers induction-cooking equipment from Appliance Deals, but it might happen that you order some other types of appliances from them as well. If you order a freestanding washing machine, washer/dryer, or dishwasher, you can request that the Appliance Deals delivery team connect your new appliance for you. That must be done at the time of placing the order, and a charge of £19.99 will be made for each item connection.

Connection can be carried out to an existing standard domestic-appliance water connection situated within one metre of the appliances location, and to a suitable existing 13-amp socket within reach of the appliance's power lead. Included in the connection will be the removal of transit brackets and a test of the appliance. The delivery team will be not be able to connect you new appliance if:

  • The old machine is not disconnected.
  • Any electrical/plumbing supplies needed fail the delivery team's testing or are considered unsuitable.
  • Any water supply needed cannot be isolated or is unsuitable.
  • Any drainage/waste facilities needed are unsuitable.
  • Mechanical adjustments are required to the appliance(s) to overcome such things as water pressure problems.
  • Alterations to existing plumbing and electrical wiring are required (that is, they are hard-wired).

Appliance Deals reserve the right to retain the connection charge if connection is not feasible for any of the reasons just cited.

Recycling

You can request that the Appliance Deals delivery team collect and recycle your old appliance. To effect that, you must must arrange for it at the time of ordering, and a separate charge of £7.99 will be made for each item. The maximum pick-up weight is 50 Kg.

All goods for collection and recycling must be disconnected from all water, electrical, and gas supplies in advance of the goods being removed. All appliances should be emptied and, in the case of refrigeration, products defrosted. Note! Only like-for-like appliances can be collected for recycling.

Goods collected for recycling are deemed to have zero value.

Appliance Deals reserve the right to retain the recycling charge if collection cannot be effected owing to any of the causes cited above.

Order Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your order, advise Appliance Deals at least 2 working days before your planned delivery date and you will receive a full refund. If the goods have already been delivered to you, you can return them up to 7 working days from the date of delivery, in line with the Distance-Selling Directive. Appliance Deals reserve the right to charge you to collect any such returned goods, and if necessary to also charge you for any damage that may have occurred whilst the goods were in your possession. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Returns

If goods prove faulty within the first 7 days, you may--after confirmation by the manufacturer of the fault--return them free of charge by calling 0870 458 74 74. If you decide to return the goods to Appliance Deals for any reason other than faults, they make a charge of £49.99 for collection. Refunds can only be made by the same method used for the purchase (such as credit card). If for any reason you need to return an item within 7 working days of receiving the delivery, call the Appliance Deals customer help line at 0870 458 74 74 and advise them that you wish to return the product and of the reason for return. They will then arrange for the goods to be collected by their courier, usually within 5-7 days. The charge for collecting goods is £49.99, which reflects the actual cost of collection. Under the terms of the Distance-Selling Directive, you as the customer have a duty of care for the product whilst it is in your possession. If products are damaged by you and subsequently returned, a charge will be made to repair the product to its original condition. Please be aware that where repair is not economically viable no refund will be made. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Payment

You can pay with any Maestro, Delta, MasterCard, or Visa card. Your payment-card details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure. You must give authority for payment at the time of order. (It may be necessary to re-confirm your security number for data protection.) Payment will be taken for out-of-stock appliances to secure stock only if you are happy to proceed with the order and agree to wait for the out-of-stock appliance.

Appliance Deals' liability to you in respect of an order is limited in lawyerly ways you should read direct at their site if such things concern you.

Appliance Deals accept internet orders only from web browsers capable of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology; that technology assures that you cannot inadvertently place an order through an unsecured connection.

Appliance Deals may periodically offer promotions under which you can buy products and pay for them at a later date. The full terms and conditions for any such applicable promotions will be supplied to you prior to any goods being shipped. You will be asked to sign and return a form to confirm that you have received and agreed to these terms.

Customer services

If you have an order query, please email Appliance Deals at enquiries@drllimited.co.uk or call them on 0870 458 74 74 any Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m., or Sunday 10:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m.

Induction Cooking Equipment Available Through This Site

The following induction-cooking equipment (here listed alphabetically by maker) is available for purchase direct through this site. We ask that if you have not already read our explanation of why we hope that you will choose to make your purchases here you please take a look at it now.

Note! We are always expanding our offering of equipment at retail: in particular, the list of products we offer in the U.K. will be expanding greatly in the very near future. Right now, we believe we have virtually all residential equipment available at retail in North America at the best internet prices to be found, and we also have a good selection of the available commercial-grade equipment (which selection will be growing). If you're looking for a particular product and it isn't on our lists--and you're not in an urgent rush--please check back here from time to time (or email us with an inquiry).

Listed below, alphabetically by maker, is what we already offer. As a general guide, units described as "hob" are available in the U.K., while those described as 'cooktop" (or, for countertops, "unit") have North American availability.

(Besides actual induction-cooking equipment, we also facilitate your direct purchase of cookbooks--whether of any cookbook or from our lists of specially selected cookbooks; we are also in the midst of adding cookware listings--we already have cast iron, and should soon have clad.)
