Those interested in Cooking may reasonably be assumed to also have some interest in books about Cooking. Here, in association with The Book Depository, we make it easy for you to browse and, if you choose, purchase from our virtual book shop of books relating to Cooking.

About The Book Depository

There are many places on the internet that sell books, but if you run any reasonable number of random samples through a price-comparison service, you will reliably find that The Book Depository is highly competitive—often the lowest price. Moreover, The Book Depository always offers free delivery, to almost anywhere in the world (over 100 countries), with every order. You don't have to pad your order with books you might not really want just to meet some price quota to get free shipping: with The Book Depository, each and every book costs you exactly the price you see, delivered.

The Book Depository, founded in 2004, is already the fastest growing bookseller in Europe, shipping to thousands of customers every day throughout the world. They have over a million customers and a reputation for extremely high service levels. A large percentage of their customers are very loyal, placing orders time and again. The Book Depository focuses on selling "less of more" rather than "more of less"—that is, they differentiate themselves from other retailers who increasingly focus on bestsellers. The Book Depository currently has over six million unique titles they can ship within 48 hours, a figure that increases every day. They even list and supply books from other retailers, to assure thoroughness.

Speaking of thoroughness: of the roughly 30 million titles ever printed in the English language, only a few million are still in print. The Book Depository seeks to make available as many of these titles as possible, so as to have the largest breadth of available titles in the world. In fact, where books are no longer in print—or are only poorly available—The Book Depository is working to make them available again by republishing them through their own "Dodo Press" imprint (which already has re-published over fifteen thousand out-of-print or hard-to-find titles), making those titles available again to readers. In fact, most Dodo Press titles are available from The Book Depository as free downloads.

The Book Depository is physically located in the U.K. (on the isle of Guernsey), but for your convenience maintains two distinct web sites listing its books: one is a U.K. site (with a web address ending in .co.uk) and the other a U.S. site (with a web address ending in .com. From either site, you can see book prices in any of (so far) seven currencies—

  • US Dollars (USD)
  • UK Pounds (GBP)
  • Euros (EUR)
  • Canadian Dollars (CAD)
  • Australian Dollars (AUD)
  • New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
  • Singapore Dollars (SGD)

When you purchase a book, your payment will be taken in the currency in which you are viewing the listings, so a Canadian can buy in Canadian dollars, an Italian in Euros, and so on.

Curiously, though all books are shipped from Guernsey, the two web sites do not always list the exact same price for a given book (in a given currency); it thus behooves you to check both listings. We make it very easy for you to select both the source Book Depository listing site and the currency you prefer. In fact, you can change those right here, right now, and your choices will remain in effect throughout this visit to our bookshop; but you can change them again (and again and again) on any page of this bookshop.

Shelves full of books.

Use the selectors below if you want to change either or both of: the Book Depository source site, or the pricing/payment currency for each book. The values displayed below are the ones currently in effect on this page. (Note: don't assume that the Book Depository site nearest you necessarily has the lower price on a given book.)

Books About Cooking

Our software goes out every night and, through a special data interface, queries The Book Depository for books related to "Cooking", which is normally a great many titles. Today, we have 2,337 books on Cooking from the Book Depository UK site that you can read about—and, if you like, conveniently one-click buy right here, right now.

Here's how you can see all those titles:

There is a set of 28 pages, one for each letter of the alphabet, one for titles that begin with a numeral, and one for titles that begin with something yet else. Books are each listed on those pages by the first letter of the first word of their title—except for titles beginning with A, An, or The, which are listed by their second word.

A typical entry on one of the alphabetical set of book-title pages (in this example, a listing from the US Book Depository, priced in U.S. dollars) might look like this:

That's all pretty simple and self-evident: the book's title, which is a click-on link to a full "details" page; the book's author (or compiler); the book's publisher; the book's format (hardcover or paperback); the book's price in whatever currency you previously selected (and, often, also the higher "list" price of the book); and the book's current availability status.

To see the page you'd get if you clicked on the title, well, click on the title (that sample above works). Before you do, though, let us note that the page you go to will have more or less the same information—only updated the instant you click, so you can be sure the price and availability are exactly up to the minute—plus a really large image of the book's cover (if The Book Depository has an image, which it usually but not always does), and a one-click button that will let you put the book in your Book Depository "Shopping Basket".

You can also click on the author's (or compilers') name and see all titles by that author; and yes, that also works in the sample above.

(Those links will bring up new browser windows or tabs—just close them when you're through looking and this page will still be here.)

A last thought: don't be afraid to add books to your Shopping Basket. You haven't actually bought any books till you go through The Book Depository's checkout procedure. Till you do, you can add other items to your basket or remove any items already in it.
